Melissa Griggs

Intervention Specialist

I have a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Bowling Green State University. I also have a Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching with a Reading Endorsement from Bowling Green State University.

This is my fourth year teaching second grade and my seventh year of teaching. I have taught in both the public school and charter school environment. Before teaching second grade, I taught third grade for two years and first grade for a year. Knowing where my second graders come from and where they are going academically helps me channel student learning to best prepare them for their future years in education. I include multiple types of learning in my classroom to meet the needs of all learners including whole group and small group instruction and center based activities.

Personal Information

I’ve been married for just about a year. My husband and I had a little boy on August 1st and we love being parents. We also have a dog (Lucky) and two cats (Lionel & Belle) who are rescued from the Humane Society. We currently live in Toledo. I enjoy reading, cross stitching, babysitting my adorable nephew, and baking for my family and friends in my free time.
